Like many others, I only write reviews when I am very happy with a product or extremely unhappy, sadly this is the latter. I purchased my WH-1000XM4 having read numerous reviews on how good the WH-1000XM4 are. Undeniably the sound quality and noise cancellation are superb. I mainly use the headphones in the office, commuting and on long haul travel, the WH-1000XM4 were ideal for this. So why the one-star review when other reviews rave about these headphones, and they win so many awards? Simple, they don't last. All the reviews and comparisons are with new headphones. After about a year and a half (outside the warranty period) the headphones developed a fault, they wouldn't reliably charge, the battery level would get stuck at 10% and when plugged in to charge the charging wouldn't activate. After a few months of struggling with this I decided to get them repaired at Sony. Having sent them in I was informed that the part required to correct this problem wasn't available, however, I could purchase a replacement pair at a discount, which I did. I have since discovered that the charging issue is a common problem, a quick internet search for "Sony WH-1000MX4 Not Charging" will bring up numerous blogs and articles describing exactly the same issue, generally after about 15 to 18 months, there are various button pressing resets that are suggested and these work for a while. But this is a fundamental flaw. For a "premium" product the components are just not adequate, and Sony does not appear to be able to source replacements. I would strongly urge anyone considering purchasing these to research how many of the glowing reviewers are still happy with the WH-1000XM4 after 18 months. If the discounted replacement pair worked, I wouldn't have written this review either but sadly after six months and very little use, this pair stopped working. Having been informed by Sony Customer Support that the replacement pair came with a 12-month warranty I wasn't too concerned. However, the Sony Customer Support have been nothing short of utterly woeful in resolving this. I have never had such a poor response from a major brand. I've purchased numerous Sony products over the past 30 years, from Walkmans, TVs, stereos and probably every model of Playstation and I have never once needed to contact customer support. After my recent experience with Sony Customer Support, the WH-1000XM4 will be my last purchase from Sony.

Hierdoor zal ik mijn XM4 retourneren, ik zie dat het ook niet beschikbaar is voor andere Sony XM koptelefoons. VPT was 50% van het luisterplezier. 2 sterren omdat de kwaliteit verder prima is. Premetto che sono le prime cuffie con annullamento rumore che acquisto, dopo essermi documentato sul web ho ricevuto ulteriori informazioni da parte di un amico “esperto” il quale mi ha confermato che Sony è al primo posto per questa tipologia di apparecchiature. Inoltre senza voler avere l’ultimo modello si potevano trovare delle buone occasioni con quelli precedenti e così è stato. Trovate ad un ottimo prezzo presso una catena conosciuta con in regalo estensione della garanzia a 3 anni. Sono circa 10 giorni che le uso e sono soddisfatto, ammetto che devo ancora impratichirmi con i vari settaggi possibili tramite APP ; ora sono curioso di testarle durante il mio prossimo viaggio aereo.

J'ai acheté ce produit depuis 15 jours et j'en suis très satisfait. Je l'utilise uniquement chez moi, le soir pour ne pas perturber le sommeil de mon épouse. Belle qualité sonore à faible volume, avec une musicalité claire et précise, il est pratique d'utilisation avec ses réglages de volume, de pause, d'avance et de retour rapide par simple effleurement sur l'orreillette droite. J'ai pu régler le son très simplement avec son application sur Android pour correspondre à mon écoute. Je recommande ce produit l'orreillette droite, l'écoute à partir de l'application Quobuz très agréable.

Après plusieurs semaines d'utilisation quotidienne, le constat est simple : ce casque est une référence absolue. Malgré l'arrivée de modèles plus récents, le XM4 reste pour moi le meilleur rapport qualité-prix du marché. Ce que j'ai adoré : • Réduction de bruit (ANC) bluffante : Que ce soit dans l'avion, le train ou un open-space bruyant, on est littéralement dans une bulle de silence. C’est impressionnant d'efficacité. • Confort au top : Il est léger et les coussinets sont très souples. Je peux le porter 4h d'affilée sans ressentir de pression sur le haut du crâne. • Connexion Multipoint : La possibilité d'être connecté simultanément à mon téléphone et mon PC est un vrai changement de vie. Le passage de l'un à l'autre est fluide. • Autonomie solide : Environ 30 heures de batterie, ce qui permet de tenir une semaine de trajets sans stresser pour la recharge. Le petit plus : Le design pliable ! Contrairement au XM5, celui-ci se replie totalement, ce qui le rend beaucoup plus facile à glisser dans un sac à dos encombré.

Et ce modèle-là en particulier car déjà relativement ancien, donc un peu moins cher, mais toujours à la page. Je ne suis absolument pas déçu. Très confortable, une qualité audio remarquable et une réduction de bruit parfaite. En plus, il est pliable, ce qui facilite le rangement. Je le recommande vivement, si les stocks ne sont pas vides, même s'il faut un certain budget.

I got the WH-1000XM4 noise cancelling headphones and they are like heaven for your ears. I am autistic and have ADHD and the noise cancelling feature is fantastic. I love that I can use them to shut the world out or listen to music (or both) they are honestly well worth the money. Sound is fantastic too! Love all the features, truly amazing!

Un casque qui tient toujours ses promesses en 2026 malgré la sortie XM5 et du XM6. Un confort au top avec un arceau très bien pensé (je le préfère au XM6), très bon équilibrage des sons même sans égalisateur activé et sans avoir besoin de monter le volume, la réduction de bruit est efficace même dans un bureau avec de nombreuses voix autour (malgré un très léger bruit blanc mais qu'on oublie très vite même sans musique en cours), le contrôle adaptatif du son est bien géré via l'application soundcontrol et le talk-to-chat est un plus au quotidien. Seul petit bemol relevé à ce jour, les bruits ambiants sont moyennement neutralisés pour mon interlocuteur lors d'une conversion téléphonique même s'il m'entend distinctement. Les micros des casques nouvelle génération (XM5 et XM6) ont dû être améliorés. A surveiller dans le temps : l'usure des coussinets et la transpiration lorsque les témpératures remonteront (casque acheté en janvier). Heureusement, des coussinets de rechange se trouvent encore facilement sur le web pour ce modèle XM4. Très satisfait de mon achat pour le prix.

Beste noisecanseling ever. Gekocht voor streamen. Had met vorige koptelefoons vaak last van vertraging. Met deze niet meer. De vele functies hadden er voor mij niet opgehoeven. Met name met 2 apparaten tegelijk vind ik vervelend. Dit kan uitgezet worden in de app, maar dan werkt het niet zo goed. Voor mijn kleine hoofd is het ook net iets te groot. Het zakt van mijn hoofd als ik voorover buk bv. Ondanks dat zou ik mooi weer opnieuw kopen.

I bought this 3 weeks ago and it is absolutely excellent, I was skeptical as these are around 4-5 years old but you really aren't missing much compared to the newer models, especially if on a budget! I have only charged these once and I have been using every day moderate use, ANC is fantastic and generally comfy to wear through the day

They were the best headphones before the XM5 & XM6 were brought into the fray, considering they fold and the XM5 doesn't, that imho makes these the second best headphones right now. The sound is perfect for me, the bass is not too heavy, the rest of the sonic detail is super clear. As with anything new vs old, I do covet the new ANC in the XM6 (and XM5 btw) as the ANC in the XM4 could be better, but it really isn't an issue when you pay less that £200 for them. I predict in 3 years, i'll swap them out for the foldable XM6 for a bargain price and still have a better product than some of the really expensive headphones available at that time.

Had headphones for a few weeks and I find them really good. Noise cancelling is very good compared to my old Sony headphones, sound quality is very good after just tweaking the bass. They are very comfortable to wear, light and seem pretty well made. Would buy again

My main issue with these headphones is the adjustability. I don't have a particularly small head but even at the smallest possible headband size, the ear muffs are slightly too low. The padding at the top is also a little uncomfortable. Maybe these were designed for a man's head (I'm female). Sound quality is great when listening to music. However, whilst the noise cancelling is OK, I found it better with my previous BOSE headphones. Unfortunately due to the store policy I cannot return these for a different model or make so I'm stick with them. The useability of the features is good although a little tricky to work out at the beginning.

Buonasera, prodotto acquistato a Novembre 2023 su Amazon al prezzo di euro 199,00. A Novembre 2025 ha smesso di funzionare correttamente e l'ho portato con qualche giorno di ritardo ad un centro assistenza, dove in data 16.12.2025 mi è stato giudicato di non conveniente riparazione e ovviamente fuori garanzia. Chiedo gentilmente se fosse almeno possibile la sostituzione del prodotto con uno uguale. Grazie

La cancellazione del rumore è eccellente, le cuffie sono belle e commode, la custodia molto pratica … MA … in tutte le versioni di questo modello che ho provato, l’audio è indietro rispetto al video con Samsung Smart TV. Se l’intenzione è di utilizzare le cuffie con la TV, andrei su uno dei modelli più nuovi. Altrimenti, questo modello è un’ottima scelta!

Cadeau offert pour Noël en remplacement d'un ancien casque Bose. Les performances anti-bruit sont aussi remarquables que la qualité acoustique (j'écoute régulièrement de la musique classique). Finition soignée. Housse de transport bien pensée avec même un adaptateur avion. Finalement, ma seule difficulté aura été de trouver où trouver le numéro de série pour enregistrer le produit.
